What is the Coach Support Initiative?

The Coach Support Initiative (CSI) is a project that has been developed to increase the capability of school based coaches. A Coaching Coordinator has been employed into targeted secondary schools in West Auckland to increase the number and quality of school based coaches.

The Coaching Coordinators will imbed strategies to recruit, retain and recognise coaches. A large component of this project is to train and develop coaches to ensure students are receiving positive sporting experiences.

Benefits for Schools:

Increase the number and quality of school based coaches (student and community coaches)
Students receive positive sporting experiences therefore increasing participation levels
Develop Regional Sporting Organisations and club links
